I've been the person other creatives blame when a brand suddenly looks good. I've run in-house studios and agency teams for projects you've definitely heard of, building the identity systems, campaigns, and creative departments that make marketing people cry (happy tears, mostly). I'm good at hiring talented people and then getting out of their way, and somehow the work I touch stays recognizable even when ten different teams are touching them too. Lately I've been teaching AI tools to handle the scale, so I get to spend my time on the ideas that get me going.
Doug mentors with intention and thinks about every word before he says it.
He sees potential early, invests time in each one of his reports and creates space for new leaders to step forward. Because of him and the time he has spent mentoring me I learned to lead with clarity and heart. Create with intention and (of course) move fast without sacrificing quality.
Doug sets clear standards and champions shared systems so teams work in sync. Creative Directors across the studio look forward to working with him and leap at the opportunity to be invited to projects that he leads. He makes the creatives feel creative and inspired to create work they can be proud of.
